اگر بچشمِ حقیقت وجودِ خود بینی
قیام جملہ اشیاء بہبودِ خود بینی
Agar Ba Chashm-e-Haqiqat Wajood-e-Khud Beeni
Qiyam-e-Jumla Ashiya Ba-Wajood-e-Khud Beeni
If you look at your own existence with the eye of Reality;
You will see the existence of all things contained within yourself.
Purging the Smoke of Ego
وجود ہیزمیت نار موسوی گردد
اگر بروں کنی از سر تو دودِ خود بینی
Wajood-e-Hezam-at Naar-e-Musavi Gardad
Agar Baroon Kuni Az Sar Tu Dood-e-Khud Beeni
Your existence, like dry wood, will become the fire of Moses;
If you cast out the smoke of self-conceit (ego) from your head.
The Depths of Oneness
ز قعر لجہ توحید دُر عشق برار
کہ گنج مخفی حق را نفود خود بینی
Ze Qa’r-e-Lujja-e-Tauheed Durr-e-Ishq Bar Aar
Ke Ganj-e-Makhfi-e-Haq Ra Nafooz-e-Khud Beeni
Bring forth the pearls of Love from the depths of the ocean of Oneness;
So that you may perceive the hidden treasure of Truth within yourself.
Sovereignty of the Two Worlds
بہ قصر عشق تراپایہ از سر جہدست
کہ تخت ہر دو جہاں را فرود خود بینی
Ba Qasr-e-Ishq Tera Paya Az Sar-e-Jahad-ast
Ke Takht-e-Har Do Jahan Ra Farood-e-Khud Beeni
In the palace of Love, your rank is attained through struggle;
Until you see the thrones of both worlds beneath your feet.
Beauty vs. Ego
تو چوں فرشتہ نظر بر جمال دوست گمار
نہ چوں لعیں کہ ہمیں در سجود خود بینی
Tu Choon Farishta Nazar Bar Jamal-e-Dost Gumaar
Na Choon La’een Ke Hamin Dar Sujood-e-Khud Beeni
Like an angel, fix your gaze upon the Beauty of the Friend;
Do not be like the Accursed (Satan), who saw only his own self despite his prostrations.
Beyond the Narrow Cage
ازیں حضیض و دنایت چو بگذری شاید
کہ تا دنا فتدلیٰ صعود خود بینی
Azeen Hazeez-o-Danayat Cho Bugzari Shayad
Ke Ta Dana-o-Fatadalla Su’ood-e-Khud Beeni
If you pass beyond this lowliness and degradation, perhaps;
You will witness your ascension to the heights of “He drew near and came close.”
Escaping the Colored Glass
بباز خانہ بروں آ ونور دوست نگر
تو چند شیشہ سرخ و کبود خود بینی
Ba-Baaz Khana Baroon Aa-o-Noor-e-Dost Nigar
Tu Chand Sheesha-e-Surkh-o-Kabood-e-Khud Beeni
Come out of the house and behold the Light of the Friend;
How long will you stay lost in the red and blue glass of this world?
The Polish of the Heart
اگر ز آئینہ زنگ حدوث بزوائی
جمال شائد حق در شہود خود بینی
Agar Ze Aina Zang-e-Hudoos Bizwa’i
Jamal-e-Shahid-e-Haq Dar Shuhood-e-Khud Beeni
If you wipe away the rust of worldliness from the mirror of your heart;
You may witness the Beauty of the Divine Witness within your own vision.
Closing the External Eyes
بہ بند دیدہ ز اعیاں کہ تا ز عین عیاں
وجود دوست چو جان وجود خود بینی
Ba-Band Deeda Ze A’yaan Ke Ta Ze Ain-e-A’yaan
Wajood-e-Dost Cho Jaan-e-Wajood-e-Khud Beeni
Close your eyes to external forms so that with the “Eye of Essence”;
You may see the existence of the Friend as the soul of your own existence.
The Sovereignty of Khudi
بیا بزم گدایاں شہ نشاں خودی ست
کہ تا نتیجہ احساں وجود خود بینی
Biya Ba-Bazm-e-Gadayaaan Shah-e-Nishan-e-Khudi-st
Ke Ta Nateeja-e-Ahsan Wajood-e-Khud Beeni
Come to the assembly of beggars where the Kingly throne of Self resides;
So that you may see your true existence as the result of Divine favor.
The Madman’s Council
در آ بہ مجلس مسکیں معین شوریدہ
کہ نقل و بادہ ز گفت و شنود خود بینی
Dar Aa Ba Majlis-e-Miskeen Mu’een-e-Shoreeda
Ke Naql-o-Baada Ze Guft-o-Shunud-e-Khud Beeni
Enter the assembly of the humble, ecstatic Moin;
So that you may find the wine and nectar of life within this conversation.
