آنکھ سے چھپ کر زیارت کیجیے
Unke Naqsh e Paa Pe Ghairat Kijiye
Aankh Se Chhup Kar Ziyarat Kijiye
Be envious of the dust of his sacred footprints,
And behold his beauty with eyes veiled in modesty.
اُن کے حسنِ ملاحت پر نثار
شیرۂ جاں کی حلاوت کیجیے
Unke Husn e Malahat Par Nisar
Sheera e Jaan Ki Halawat Kijiye
Sacrifice everything for his elegant beauty,
And sweeten the essence of your life with his remembrance.
اُن کے در پر جیسے ہو مٹ جائیے
ناتوانو ! کچھ تو ہمت کیجیے
Unke Dar Par Jaise Ho Mit Jaaiye
Na-tawaano! Kuch Toh Himmat Kijiye
Perish at his door by any means possible,
O weak ones! At least show some courage!
پھیر دیجیے پنجۂ دیوِ لعیں
مصطفےٰ کے بل پہ طاقت کیجیے
Pher Dijiye Panja e Dev e Laeen
Mustafa Ke Bal Pe Taaqat Kijiye
Repel the grasp of the accursed devil,
Draw your strength from the might of Mustafa ﷺ.
ڈوب کر یادِ لبِ شاداب میں
آبِ کوثر کی سباحت کیجیے
Doob Kar Yaad e Lab e Shadaab Mein
Aab e Kausar Ki Sibahat Kijiye
Immerse yourselves in the memory of his radiant lips,
And swim (find purity) in the waters of Kausar.
یادِ قامت کرتے اٹھیے قبر سے
جانِ محشر پر قیامت کیجیے
Yaad e Qamat Karte Uthhiye Qabr Se
Jaan e Mehshar Par Qayamat Kijiye
Rise from the grave remembering his graceful stature,
And cause a stir on the very soul of the Day of Resurrection.
اُن کے در پر بیٹھے بن کر فقیر
بے نواؤ فکرِ ثروت کیجیے
Unke Dar Par Baithe Ban Kar Faqeer
Be-nawaao Fikr e Sarwat Kijiye
Sit at his threshold in the guise of a beggar,
O destitute ones! Seek true wealth there.
جس کا حسن اللہ کو بھی بھا گیا
ایسے پیارے سے محبت کیجیے
Jis Ka Husn Allah Ko Bhi Bhaa Gaya
Aise Pyaare Se Mohabbat Kijiye
The one whose beauty delighted even Allah,
Love such a beloved and cherished master.
حیّ باقی جس کی کرتا ہے ثنا
مرتے دم تک اس کی مدحت کیجیے
Hai Baaqi Jis Ki Karta Hai Sanaa
Marte Dam Tak Uss Ki Midhat Kijiye
The Ever-Living Lord Himself praises him;
Continue his glorification until your final breath.
عرش پر جس کی کمانیں چڑھ گئیں
صدقے اس بازو پہ قوت کیجیے
Arsh Par Jis Ki Kamanen Chadh Gayeen
Sadqay Uss Baazoo Pe Quwwat Kijiye
The one whose reach extended to the Divine Throne,
Sacrifice yourself for the strength of that powerful arm.
نیم وا طیبہ کے پھولوں پر ہو آنکھ
بلبلو ! پاسِ نزاکت کیجیے
Neem Wa Taibah Ke Phoolon Par Ho Aankh
Bulbulo! Paas e Nazaakat Kijiye
Keep your eyes half-closed upon the flowers of Taiba,
O nightingales! Observe the delicate sanctity of this place.
سر سے گرتا ہے ابھی بارِ گناہ
خم ذرا فرقِ ارادت کیجیے
Sar Se Girta Hai Abhi Baar e Gunah
Kham Zara Farq e Iradaat Kijiye
The burden of sins is about to fall from your head,
Just slightly bow the forehead of your devotion.
آنکھ تو اُٹھتی نہیں کیا دیں جواب
ہم پہ بے پرسش ہی رحمت کیجیے
Aankh Toh Uthhti Nahin Kya Dein Jawaab
Hum Pe Be-Pursish Hi Rehmat Kijiye
Our eyes cannot rise in shame; how can we answer?
Shower your mercy upon us without any questioning.
عذر بدتر از گنہ کا ذکر کیا
بے سبب ہم پر عنایت کیجیے
Uzr Badtar Az Gunah Ka Zikr Kya
Be Sabab Hum Par Inaayat Kijiye
Why mention excuses that are worse than the sin itself?
Bestow your kindness upon us without any reason.
نعرہ کیجیے یا رسول اللہ کا
مفلسو ! سامانِ دولت کیجیے
Na’ra Kijiye Ya RasoolAllah Ka
Mufliso! Saamaan e Daulat Kijiye
Raise the cry of “Ya RasoolAllah” ﷺ!
O impoverished ones! Gather your spiritual wealth.
ہم تمھارے ہو کے کس کے پاس جائیں
صدقہ شہزادوں کا رحمت کیجیے
Hum Tumhaare Ho Ke Kis Ke Paas Jaayen
Sadqa Shehzaadon Ka Rehmat Kijiye
Being yours, to whom else could we possibly go?
For the sake of your beloved grandsons, grant us mercy.
مَن رَّآنِي فَقَد رَأَی الحق جو کہے
کیا بیاں اس کی حقیقت کیجیے
Man Raani Qad Ra’al Haq Jo Kahe
Kya Bayan Uss Ki Haqeeqat Kijiye
The one who declared: “Whoever saw me has seen the Truth,”
How can one possibly describe his true reality?

What need is there to even mention our desires to you?

You are the Sovereign of the universe and we are destitute;
Remember us during the distribution of your favors.

ظلمتِ غم کی شکایت کیجیے

O Moon of Taiba! What endless complaints of sorrow’s darkness
Should I present before your radiant presence?
اقرب و حبِ وطن بے ہمتی
آہ کس کس کی شکایت کیجیے
Aqrab o Hubb e Watan Be-Himmati
Aah Kis Kis Ki Shikaayat Kijiye
Kinsfolk, love of homeland, and my own lack of courage;
Alas! Of which of these should I complain?
در بدر کب تک پھریں خستہ خراب
طیبہ میں مدفن عنایت کیجیے
Dar Ba Dar Kab Tak Phiren Khasta Kharaab
Taibah Mein Madfan Inaayat Kijiye
How long must I wander door-to-door, broken and wretched?
Grant me a final resting place in the soil of Taiba.
ہر برس وہ قافلوں کی دھوم دھام
آہ سُنیے اور غفلت کیجیے
Har Baras Woh Qaafilon Ki Dhoom Dhaam
Aah Suniye Aur Ghaflat Kijiye
Every year, the fanfare of the departing caravans is heard;
Alas, one hears it and yet persists in negligence.
پھر پلٹ کر منہ نہ اُس جانب کیا
سچ ہے اور دعوائے الفت کیجیے
Phir Palat Kar Munh Na Uss Jaanib Kiya
Sach Hai Aur Dawa e Ulfat Kijiye
I never turned my face back toward that sacred direction;
Is it true then, that I still dare to claim I love you?
اب تو آقا منہ دکھانے کا نہیں
کس طرح رفعِ ندامت کیجیے
Ab To Aaqa Munh Dikhane Ka Nahin
Kis Tarah Raf-e-Nadamat Kijiye
O Master! I am no longer fit to show my face to you;
How can I ever remove this overwhelming shame?
اپنے ہاتھوں خود لٹا بیٹھے ہیں گھر
کس پہ دعوائے بضاعت کیجئے
Apne Haathon Khud Luta Baithe Hain Ghar
Kis Pe Dawa-e-Baza’at Kijiye
I have squandered my own home with my own hands;
Against whom can I now claim any remaining capital?
کس سے کہیے کیا کیا کیا ہو گیا
خود ہی اپنے پَر ملامت کیجیے
Kis Se Kahiye Kya Kya Kya Ho Gaya
Khud Hi Apne Par Malamat Kijiye
To whom should I say what has transpired?
I must only reproach and blame my own self.
عرض کا بھی اب تو منہ پڑتا نہیں
کیا علاجِ دردِ فرقت کیجئے
Arz Ka Bhi Ab To Munh Parta Nahin
Kya Ilaaj e Dard e Furqat Kijiye
I lack the courage even to present a plea now;
What remedy is there for this pain of separation?
اپنی اک میٹھی نظر کے شہد سے
چارۂ زہرِ مصیبت کیجئے
Apni Ik Meethi Nazar Ke Shahd Se
Chara e Zeher e Museebat Kijiye
With the honey of a single sweet glance from you,
Provide the antidote for this poison of affliction.
دے خدا ہمت کہ یہ جانِ حزیں
آپ پر واریں وہ صورت کیجئے
De Khuda Himmat Ke Yeh Jaan e Hazeen
Aap Par Waaren Woh Soorat Kijiye
May God grant me the courage so that I may
Sacrifice this grieving soul upon you in every way.
آپ ہم سے بڑھ کے ہم پر مہرباں
ہم کریں جرم آپ رحمت کیجیے
Aap Hum Se Badh Ke Hum Par Meherbaan
Hum Karen Jurm Aap Rehmat Kijiye
You are more kind to us than we are to ourselves;
Though we commit sins, please continue to show mercy.
