اک رشکِ زمانہ ہیں، پروانے محمد کے
یا خلد بداماں ہیں، دیوانے محمد کے
Ik Rashk-e-Zamana Hain, Parwanay Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Ya Khuld Badaman Hain, Deewanay Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
The moths of Muhammad (ﷺ) are the envy of the age!
Or rather, the lovers of Muhammad (ﷺ) hold Paradise in their robes.
مرتے ہیں محبت میں، جیتے ہیں محبت میں
یوں زندہ و تابندہ ہیں ، پروانے محمد کے
Martay Hain Muhabbat Mein, Jeetay Hain Muhabbat Mein
Yun Zinda-o-Tabinda Hain, Parwanay Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
They die in Love, and they live through Love—
In this way, the moths of Muhammad (ﷺ) remain eternally alive and radiant.
اوتادِ زمین و عرش، سرمست و خدا آگاہ
ویرانہ ء عالم میں ،فرزانے محمد کے
Awtad-e-Zameen-o-Arsh, Sarmast-o-Khuda Aagah
Veerana-e-Aalam Mein, Farzane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Pillars of the earth and the throne, intoxicated yet aware of God—
Within the wilderness of this world, they are the wise ones of Muhammad (ﷺ).
محبوبیِ و سرشاری، ہر آن طمانیت
بیگانہ ء خوف و غم، دیوانے محمد کے
Mahboobi-o-Sarshari, Har Aan Tamaniyat
Begana-e-Khauf-o-Gham, Deewanay Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Possessing belovedness and ecstasy, every moment in tranquility—
The lovers of Muhammad (ﷺ) are strangers to fear and grief.
یک مستی و ہشیاری، یک گونہ سروروشوق
میخانہء ہستی میں ، پیمانے محمد کے
Yek Masti-o-Hushyari, Yek Goona Suroor-o-Shauq
Maikhana-e-Hasti Mein, Paimane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Simultaneous intoxication and alertness, a unique joy and longing—
In the tavern of existence, they are the goblets of Muhammad (ﷺ).
عرفان کی مے سےپر، جاںبخش ودوائےدل
پیمانے محمد کے ، میخانے محمدؐکے
Irfan Ki May Se Pur, Jaan-Bakhsh-o-Dawa-e-Dil
Paimane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke, Maikhane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Filled with the wine of Gnosis, life-giving and a remedy for the heart—
The goblets of Muhammad (ﷺ), the taverns of Muhammad (ﷺ).
انوار الہیٰ کا ہر رنگ نمایاں ہے
سر چشمہءرحمت ہیں کاشانے محمدؐ کے
Anwaar-e-Ilahi Ka Har Rang Numayan Hai
Sar-Chashma-e-Rehmat Hain Kashane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Every hue of Divine Light is manifest within them—
The dwellings of Muhammad (ﷺ) are the fountainhead of Mercy.
اقوالِ شریعت ہوں اسرار طریقت ہوں
ہر شے کی حقیقت ہیں،افسانے محمدؐ کے
Aqwaal-e-Shariat Hoon Asraar-e-Tariqat Hoon
Har Shay Ki Haqeeqat Hain, Afsanay Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Be it the dictates of Shariat or the secrets of Tariqat—
The stories of Muhammad (ﷺ) are the ultimate reality of everything.
تفسیر و فقہ، فتویٰ، شمشیر، جہادِ نفس
عشاق کے ہاتھوںمیں،پیمانے محمدؐکے
Tafseer-o-Fiqh, Fatwa, Shamsheer, Jihad-e-Nafs
Ushaaq Ke Haathon Mein, Paimane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Exegesis, Jurisprudence, Edicts, the Sword, and the Struggle with Self—
In the hands of the lovers, they are the measures of Muhammad (ﷺ).
یہ فیض قلندر کے ، ہیں فیض محمدؐ کے
کاشانے قلندر کے کاشانے محمد کے
Yeh Faiz Qalandar Ke, Hain Faiz Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Kashane Qalandar Ke Kashane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
These blessings of the Qalandar are actually the blessings of Muhammad (ﷺ)—
The dwellings of the Qalandar are the dwellings of Muhammad (ﷺ).
دربار قلندرؒ میں دل کھول کے پی خاور
بوالفیض کی نظریں ہیں میخانے محمدؐ کے
Darbar-e-Qalandar Mein Dil Khol Ke Pi Khawar
Abul Faiz Ki Nazrein Hain Maikhane Muhammad (ﷺ) Ke
Drink to your heart’s content in the Qalandar’s court, O Khawar!
The glances of Abul Faiz are the taverns of Muhammad (ﷺ).
The Synthesis of Shariat and Tariqat
Khawar Soharwardy provides a deep insight into the Sufi methodology. In Stanza 8, he mentions Tafseer, Fiqh, and Fatwa alongside Jihad-e-Nafs. This demonstrates that for the true lover (Deewana), outward law and inward spiritual struggle are not separate—they are both “Paimane” (measures) given by the Prophet (ﷺ).
The Maqta (final verse) is a direct tribute to his Murshad, Abul Faiz Qalandar Ali Soharwardy. The poet establishes that the grace found at the Murshad’s door is not separate from Prophetic grace; rather, the Murshad’s gaze acts as the “Maikhana” (tavern) where the wine of Muhammad (ﷺ) is distributed.
