خودی کا سرِ نہاں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
خودی ہے تیغِ فساں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Khudi Ka Sirr e Nihan La Ilaha Illa Allah
Khudi Hai Tegh-e-Fasāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
The hidden secret of the Self is “There is no god but Allah,”
The Self is a sword, and “There is no god but Allah” is its whetstone.
یہ دَور اپنے براہیم کی تلاش میں ہے
صنم کدہ ہے جہاں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Yeh Daur Apney Ibraheem Ki Talāsh Mein Hai
Sanam Kada Hai Jahāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
This age is in search of its own Abraham (the idol-breaker);
The entire world is a temple of idols, and its truth is “There is no god but Allah.”
کیا ہے تو نے متاعِ غرور کا سودا
فریبِ سود و زیاں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Kiya Hai Tu Ne Matā’-e-Ghurūr Ka Saudā
Fareb-e-Sūd-o-Ziyāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
You have bartered your soul for the goods of pride;
The illusion of profit and loss vanishes before “There is no god but Allah.”
یہ مال و دولتِ دنیا یہ رشتہ و پیوند
بُتانِ وَہم و گماں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Yeh Māl-o-Daulat-e-Dunyā Yeh Rishta-o-Paivand
Butāñ-e-Wahm-o-Gumāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
This worldly wealth and these bonds of kinship,
Are but idols of doubt and fancy; the only Reality is “There is no god but Allah.”
خرد ہوئی ہے زمان و مکاں کی زناری
نہ ہے زماں نہ مکاں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Khirad Huī Hai Zamāñ-o-Makāñ Ki Zunnārī
Na Hai Zamāñ Na Makāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
Intellect has become a slave to the limits of time and space;
But neither time nor space truly exist before “There is no god but Allah.”
یہ نغمہ فصلِ گل و لالہ کا نہیں پابند
بهار ہو کہ خزاں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Yeh Naghma Fasl-e-Gul-o-Lāla Ka Nahīñ Pāband
Bahār Ho Ke Khizāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
This melody is not restricted to the season of flowers;
Whether it be spring or autumn, the truth is “There is no god but Allah.”
اگرچہ بُت ہیں جماعت کی آستینوں میں
مجھے ہے حکمِ اذاں لا الہٰ الا اللہ
Agarche But Haiñ Jamā’at Ki Āstīnōñ Meiñ
Mujhe Hai Hukm-e-Azāñ Lā Ilāha Illa Allah
Though there are idols hidden within the sleeves of the community,
I am commanded to proclaim the call: “There is no god but Allah.”

- Sirr-e-Nihan: The hidden/concealed secret.
- Tegh-e-Fasan: A sword sharpened on a whetstone.
- Sanam Kada: Temple / House of Idols.
- Mata-e-Ghurur: The property of pride/vanity.
- Sūd-o-Ziyāñ: Profit and loss.
- Zunnari: Bound to false beliefs (wearing the Brahmanical thread).
- Khirad: Human intellect or reasoning.
