Ay Habib-e-Kibriya Ay Manba-e-Jood-o-Sifat: Allama Riaz-ud-Din Soharwardy
The Source of All Creation
Ay Habib-e-Kibriya Ay Manba-e-Jood-o-Sifat
Ba’is-e-Takween-e-Aalam, Markaz-e-Kul Kainat
O Beloved of the Almighty! O Source of all generosity and attributes!
The reason for the universe’s creation and the center of all existence.
The Acceptance of the Essence
Ho Gaya Paida Teri Khatir Nizam-e-Hast-o-Bood
Bargah-e-Haq Mein Hai Maqbool Kitni Teri Zaat
The entire system of existence was brought forth for your sake;
How beloved and accepted is your essence in the Court of Truth!
The Existence of the Six Realms
Tu Nahin, Kuch Bhi Nahin, Tu Hai Tu Sab Mojood Hai
Tere Hi Dam Se Hua Qaim Wujood-e-Shash Jehat
Without you, there is nothing; with you, everything exists;
It is by your breath that the existence of the six dimensions is sustained.
The Foundation of Faith
Kyun Na Hum Samjhein Mohabbat Ko Teri Imaan-e-Asl
Jab Isi Ik Baat Par Moqoof Hai Apni Najat
Why should we not consider your love as the very core of faith?
When our entire salvation depends upon this single truth.
The Fountain of Eternal Life
Jis Ke Munh Mein Par Gaya Ik Martaba Tera Luaab
Usne Tukray Kar Diya Pemana-e-Aab-e-Hayat
One who received even a drop of your blessed saliva in their mouth;
Has shattered the value of the fabled fountain of eternal life.
The Call of Oneness
Tu Ne Farmaya Huwallahu Ahad Duniya Mein Jab
Sar-ba-Sajda Tere Qadmon Mein Gire Laat-o-Manaat
When you proclaimed “He is Allah, the One” to the world;
The idols of Laat and Manaat fell prostrate at your feet.
The Sun and Moon as Beggars
Reza-Cheen Teri Bisat-e-Husn Ke Shams-o-Qamar
Ay Mujassam Noor-e-Haq Ay Mashal-e-Kul Kainat
The sun and moon are but crumb-gatherers from the table of your beauty;
O Personified Light of Truth! O Torch of the entire universe!
The Honor of the Aasi
Aasiyon Ko Naz Ho Kyunkar Na Teri Zaat Par
Maani Jaye Gi Teri Mahshar Ke Din Har Ek Baat
Why should the sinners not take pride in your noble essence?
For on the Day of Judgment, every word of yours shall be honored.
The Zakat of Eternal Beauty
Tere Noor-e-Paak Se Zo-Raiz Mehr-o-Maah Huay
Tere Husn-e-Lam-Yazal Ki Is Tarah Nikli Zakat
The sun and moon were illuminated by your pure light;
This was but the “Zakat” (charity) bestowed from your eternal beauty.
The Gaze of Compassion
Marja-e-Khalq-e-Khuda Hai Teri Zaat-e-Ba-Safa
Ho Riaz-e-Dil Hazeen Par Bhi Nigah-e-Iltifat
Your pure essence is the sanctuary for all God’s creation;
May a gaze of kindness fall upon the sorrowful heart of Riaz.
Insight: The Sovereignty of Noor & Lineage of Love
Allama Soharwardy explores the Noor-e-Muhammadi ﷺ as the foundational light of the cosmos. By describing the sun and moon as “Reza-cheen” (picking up crumbs), he echoes the majestic spirit of Ala Hazrat Imam Ahmed Raza Khan.
The line “Tu nahin, kuch bhi nahin…” is a direct thematic reflection of Ala Hazrat’s famous declaration:
“Jaan Hain Woh Jahaan Ki, Jaan Hai Toh Jahaan Hai” (He is the Soul of the worlds; the world exists only because the Soul exists).
Furthermore, Soharwardy’s address to the Prophet ﷺ as the “Source of Generosity” (Manba-e-Jood) aligns perfectly with the immortal kalam:
“Wah Kia Jood-o-Karam Hai Shah-e-Batha Tera.”
Together, these works establish the Prophet ﷺ as the ultimate benefactor for the Aasi (sinners).
