**”Tere Ishq Ki Inteha Chahta Hun”** (I wish to attain the limits of Your love) is one of the most powerful and insightful couplets by the Poet of the East, **Allama Muhammad Iqbal**. It is a profound Ghazal and Hamd (praise of God) expressing the spiritual audacity and deep longing of a seeker challenging the very boundaries of divine love and wisdom.
**Tere Ishq ki Inteha Chahta Hun**
Meri Sadgi dekh mein kia chahta Hun
I seek the limit (or highest point) of Your love,
Look at my simplicity—what is it that I seek?
**Sitam Ho Ke Ho Wada e BeHijabi**
Koi Baat Sabr Azma Chahta Hun
Be it cruelty (trial) or the promise of unveiling (direct vision of God),
I seek any condition that tests my patience.
**Ye Jannat Mubarik Rahe Zahidon Ko**
Ke Mein Aap Ka Samna Chahta Hun
May this paradise be blessed for the ascetics,
For I desire a direct confrontation (meeting) with You.
**Zara Sa Tu Dil Houn Magar Shokh Itna**
Wohi Lan Tarani Suna Chahta Hun
I am but a small heart, yet so bold,
I wish to hear that same “You shall never see Me” (Lan Tarani) again.
**Bhari Bazm Mein Raaz Ki Baat Keh Di**
Bara Be-Adab Hun, Saza Chahta Hun
I have revealed the secret in a crowded assembly,
I am very insolent (disrespectful), I seek punishment.
**Koi Dam Ka Mehman Hun Ae Ahl e Mehfil**
Charagh e Sehar Hun, Bujha Chahta Hun
I am a guest for just a little while, O attendees of the assembly (of life),
I am the lamp of dawn, and I wish to be extinguished (to die soon).
