“Gham Ho Gaye Be Shumar Aaqa” is an intensely emotional Naat by Alahazrat Imam Ahmad Raza Khan. It is a humble petition of a sinking soul seeking the “hand of mercy” from the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
غم ہو گئے بے شمار آقا
بندہ تیرے نثار آقا
Gham Ho Gaye Be Shumar Aaqa
Banda Tere Nisar Aaqa
My sorrows have become countless, O Master ﷺ,
This humble servant is sacrificed for you, O Master ﷺ.
بگڑا جاتا ہے کھیل میرا
آقا آقا سنوار آقا
Bigra Jata Hai Khel Mera
Aaqa Aaqa Sanwar Aaqa
My life’s affairs are falling apart,
O Master! O Master! Set them right, O Master ﷺ.
منجدھار پہ آکے ناؤ ٹوٹی
دے ہاتھ کہ ہوں میں پار آقا
Manjdhaar Pe Aake Nao Tooti
De Hath Ke Hun Main Paar Aaqa
The boat has broken in the middle of the stream,
Give me your hand so that I may reach the shore, O Master ﷺ.
ٹُوٹی جاتی ہے پیٹھ میری
للہ یہ بوجھ اتار آقا
Toti Jati Hai Peedh Meri
Lillah Yeh Bojh Utaar Aaqa
My back is breaking (under the weight of sins),
For God’s sake, remove this heavy burden, O Master ﷺ.
ہلکا ہے اگر ہمارا پلہ
بھاری ہے ترِا وقار آقا
Halka Hai Agar Hamara Palla
Bhari Hai Tera Waqar Aaqa
If our scale of deeds is light,
Your dignity and status are weighty, O Master ﷺ.
مجبور ہیں ہم تو فکر کیا ہے
تم کو تو ہے اختیار آقا
Majboor Hain Hum To Fikr Kya Hai
Tum Ko To Hai Ikhtiyar Aaqa
We are helpless, but why should we worry?
For you possess the absolute authority, O Master ﷺ.
میں دور ہوں تم تو ہو میرے پاس
سن لو میری پکار آقا
Main Door Hun Tum To Ho Mere Pas
Sun Lo Meri Pukaar Aaqa
I am far away, but you are close to me,
Please listen to my desperate call, O Master ﷺ.
مجھ سا کوئی غم زدہ نہ ہوگا
تم سا نہیں غم گسار آقا
Mujh Sa Koi Ghamzada Na Hoga
Tum Sa Nahin Gham-Gusaar Aaqa
There will be no one as grief-stricken as I,
And there is no comforter like you, O Master ﷺ.
گرداب میں پڑ گئی ہے کشتی
ڈوبا ، ڈوبا ،اتار آقا
Girdab Mein Par Gayi Hai Kashti
Dooba, Dooba, Utaar Aaqa
The ship has fallen into a whirlpool,
It is sinking, it is sinking! Carry it across, O Master ﷺ.
تم وہ کہ کرم کو ناز تم سے
میں وہ کہ بدی کو عار آقا
Tum Woh Ke Karam Ko Naaz Tum Se
Main Woh Ke Badi Ko Aar Aaqa
You are such that Generosity itself is proud of you,
I am such that even Evil is ashamed of me, O Master ﷺ.
پھر منہ نہ پڑے کبھی خزاں کا
دے دے ایسی بہار آقا
Phir Munh Na Pare Kabhi Khazan Ka
De De Aisi Bahar Aaqa
May the face of autumn never be seen again,
Grant me such a spiritual spring, O Master ﷺ.
جس کی مرضی خدا نہ ٹالے
میرا ہے وہ نامدار آقا
Jis Ki Marzi Khuda Na Taale
Mera Hai Woh Naamdaar Aaqa
He whose will is never turned back by God,
He is my illustrious and renowned Master ﷺ.
ہے ملک خدا پہ جس کا قبضہ
میرا ہے وہ کامگار آقا
Hai Milk-e-Khuda Pe Jis Ka Qabza
Mera Hai Woh Kaamgaar Aaqa
He who has authority over God’s kingdom,
He is my successful and powerful Master ﷺ.
سویا کئے نابکار بندے
رویا کئے زار زار آقا
Soya Kiye Na-Bakaar Bande
Roya Kiye Zaar Zaar Aaqa
While the worthless servants remained asleep,
Our Master ﷺ wept bitterly (for our salvation).
کیا بھول ہے کہ انکے ہوتے کہلائیں
دنیا کہ یہ تاجدار آقا
Kya Bhool Hai Ke Unke Hote Kehlayeen
Duniya Ke Yeh Taajdaar Aaqa
What a delusion that while He ﷺ exists,
These worldly rulers are called masters.
اُن کے ادنیٰ گدا پہ مٹ جایئں
ایسے ایسے ہزار آقا
Un Ke Adna Gada Pe Mit Jayeen
Aise Aise Hazaar Aaqa
For even a lowly beggar at His ﷺ door,
Thousands of such “masters” could be sacrificed.
بے ابرِ کرم کے میرے دھبے
لاَ تَغسِلھَا البحَار آقا
Be-Abr-e-Karam Ke Mere Dhabbe
La Taghsil-hal Bihaar Aaqa
Without the clouds of your mercy, the stains of my sins
Cannot be washed away even by the oceans, O Master ﷺ.
اتنی رحمت رضاؔ پہ کر لو
لا یقروبہ البوار آقا
Itni Rehmat Raza Pe Kar Lo
La Yaqrabuhul Bawaar Aaqa
Bestow so much mercy upon Raza,
That ruin and destruction may never come near him, O Master ﷺ.
