Show me just this much mercy, O Generous Eyes;
When my soul is at my lips (death), appear before me.

Your scent is in every flower, Your light in every flame;
The nightingale is Your nightingale, the moth is Your moth.

جس جاء نظر آتے ہو سجدے وہیں کرتا ہوں
اس سے نہیں کچھ مطلب کعبہ ہو یا بُت خانہ

Jis Ja Nazar Aate Ho Sajday Wahin Karta Hoon
Is Se Nahin Kuch Matlab Kaaba Ho Ya Butkhana

Wherever I see You, I bow my head in prostration;
It matters not to me if it is the Kaaba or a temple.

Bedam Meri Qismat Mein Sajday Hain Usi Dar Ke
Chuta Hai Na Chutay Ga Sang-e-Dar-e-Janana

O Bedam, my destiny is to bow at that very threshold;
I have never left, nor will I ever leave the doorstep of the Beloved.

وہ ہنس کے کہے جائیں دیوانہ ہے دیوانہ

Kya Lutf Ho Mehshar Mein Main Shikway Kiye Jaoon
Woh Has Ke Kahe Jayein Deewana Hai Deewana

What a joy it would be if I keep complaining on Judgment Day;
And He keeps smilingly saying, “He is but a mad lover.”

شیشے پہ گرا شیشہ پیمانے پہ پیمانہ

Saqi Tere Aate Hi Yeh Josh Hai Masti Ka
Sheeshay Pe Gira Sheesha Paimane Pe Paimana

O Saqi, with Your arrival, such is the fervor of intoxication;
Glass strikes against glass, and cup upon cup.
