“Tu Ghani az Har Do Alam man Faqir” is a soul-stirring Persian Rubai by Allama Muhammad Iqbal. In this humble petition, the poet acknowledges his sins and pleads that his record be kept hidden from the Holy Prophet ﷺ on the Day of Judgment out of sheer respect and shame.
Tu Ghani az Har Do Alam man Faqir
Roz e Mehshar Uzr Hai Man Pazeer
You are independent of both worlds and I am a miserable Faqir.
On the Day of Judgement, please accept my excuse and forgive me.
Var Hisabam Ra Tu Beeni Naguzeer
Az Nigah e Mustafa Pinhaan Bageer
If You must open my record and it is unavoidable,
Please keep it hidden from the sight of my beloved Prophet Mustafa ﷺ.
While Allama Iqbal expresses a state of Haya (shame/modesty) and wishes to be hidden, Bedam Warsi expresses a different spiritual longing for the same Day of Judgment:
Ajab Tamasha Ho Maidan-e-Hashr Mein Bedam
Ke Sab Hon Pesh-e-Khuda Aur Main Roo-Ba-Roo-e-Rasool
(What a strange sight it would be in the field of Resurrection, Bedam;
That everyone is before God, while I stand face-to-face with the Messenger.)
Word Meaning: Tu Ghani az Har Do Alam man Faqir
- Ghani: Self-Sufficient / Independent.
- Har Do Alam: Both worlds (This life and the hereafter).
- Uzr-haye: Pleas / Excuses.
- Naguzeer: Inevitable / Unavoidable.
- Pinhaan: Hidden.
- Roo-Ba-Roo: Face-to-face.

This is the correct form.
There is error in line no 3.
iss rubai ka teesra misra iss tarah hai
VER HISABUM RA TU BEENI NA GUZEER
Kindly verify it from any iqbal shanaas and correct it

This Ruba’i is available in the book “Zinda Rood”
Zinda Rood is a 4 volume biographical work of Justice Javed Iqbal on Muhammad Iqbal.
The correct line number 3 is as follows:
“Dar Hisabam Ra Tu Beeni Naguzeer”
There are many versions of line 3 and I was looking for the authentic source to confirm it. Finally, I got in “Zinda Rood”.
Bhy yeh در nahin ور hai
VER HISABUM RA TOU BEENI NA GUZEER
Ye rubai allama ne ramzan noori r.a ko tohfe me dediya.
