وہی رب ہے جس نے تجھ کو ہمہ تن کرم بنایا
Tujhe hamd hai Khudāyā
|
وہی رب ہے جس نے تجھ کو ہمہ تن کرم بنایا |
Wohi Rab hai jisne tujh ko hamatan karam banāya |
He is the Lord who made you wholly (from head to toe) a fountain of grace |
|
ہمیں بھیک مانگنے کو ترا آستاں بتایا |
Hameñ bheek māñgne ko tirā āstāñ batāyā |
And showed us your doorstep (threshold) as the place to beg (for favour). |

تجھے حمد ہے خدایا |
Tujhe hamd hai Khudāyā |
All praise belongs to You, O Lord. |
Koī tum sā kaun āyā
|
تم ہی حاکم برایا تم ہی قاسم عطایا |
Tum hī hākim barāyā, tum hī qāsim-e-atāyā |
You are the ruler for all; you are the distributor of all gifts. |

تم ہی دافع بلایا تم ہی شافع خطایا |
Tum hī dāfi-e-balāyā, tum hī shāfi-e-khatāyā |
You are the repeller of calamities; you are the intercessor for sins. |

کویی تم سا کون آیا |
Koī tum sā kaun āyā |
Who else has come who is like you? |
Wohi sab se afzal āyā
|
وہ کنواری پاک مریم وہ نفختُ فیہا کا دم |
Woh kunwārī Pāk Maryam, woh nafakh-tu-fīhā ka dam |
That virgin, pure Mary, that divine breath (that brought life to Christ); |

ہے عجب نشان اعظم مگر آمنہ کا جایا |
Hai ajab nishān-e-a’zam, magar Āminah ka jāyā |
That is a great, wondrous sign—but the son of Aminah (is supreme). |

Wohi sab se afzal āyā |
He is the one who came out to be the most superior of all. |
Tujhe Yak ne Yak banāyā
|
یہی بولے سدرہ والے چمن جہاں کے تھالے |
Yehī bolē Sidrah wālē, chaman jahāñ ke thālē |
This is what the residents of Sidra (Lote Tree) said, and the trays of the universe; |
|
سبھی میں نے چھان ڈالے ترے پایہ کا نہ پایا |
Sabhī maiñ ne chhān ḍālē, tirē pāyah kā na pāyā |
I searched through all of them, but found none equal to your status. |
|
تجھے یک نے یک بنایا |
Tujhe Yak ne Yak banāyā |
The One (God) made you unique (peerless). |
Karō qismat atāyā
|
فاذا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ یہ ملا ہے تجھ کو منصب |
Fa izā faraghta fa-nṣab, yeh milā hai tujh ko manṣab |
(Quoting the Quran, 94:7) “So when you are free, strive in supplication”; this is the status you have been given. |

جو گدا بنا چکے اب اٹھو وقت بخشش آیا |
Jo gadā banā chuke ab, uṭhō waqt-e-bakhshish āyā |
Those who became beggars (seekers), now arise, the time for granting favours has come. |
|
کرو قسمت عطایا |
Karō qismat atāyā |
Distribute the gifts and blessings. |
Banō shāfi-e-khatāyā
|
وَاِلَی الْاِلٰہِ فَارْغَبْ کرو عرض سب کے مطلب |
Wa ilal Ilāh-i farghab, karō arẓ sab kē matlab |
(Quoting the Quran, 94:8) “And to your Lord turn your attention”; present everyone’s requests. |

کہ تمھی کو تکتے ہیں سب کرو ان پہ اپنا سایا |
Ke tumhīñ kō takte haiñ sab, karō un pē apnā sāyā |
For everyone looks only to you, bestow your shade (mercy) upon them. |

بنو شافع خطایا |
Banō shāfi-e-khatāyā |
Become the intercessor for our sins. |
Na koī gayā na āyā
|
ارے اے خدا کے بندو کوئی میرے دل کو ڈھوںڈو |
Arē ay Khudā kē bando, koī merē dil kō ḍhūñḍō |
Oh, servants of God, someone please search for my heart! |

مرے پاس تھا ابھی تو ابھی کیا ہوا خدایا |
Merē pās thā abhī tō, abhī kyā huā Khudāyā |
It was with me just now, what has happened to it, O Lord? |
|
نہ کوئی گیا نہ آیا |
Na koī gayā na āyā |
Neither did anyone leave, nor did anyone come (yet my heart is gone). |
Yeh na pūchh kaisā pāyā
|
ہمیں اے رضؔا ترے دل کا پتا چلا بہ مشکل |
Hameñ ay Razā tirē dil kā patā chalā ba-mushkil |
O Razā (the poet’s pen name), we barely got a clue about your heart; |

درِ روضہ کے مقابل وہ ہمیں نظر تو آیا |
Dar-e-Rauzah kē muqābil, woh hameñ nazar tō āyā |
It came into our sight right in front of the (Prophet’s) blessed tomb. |

تجھے یک نے یک بنایا |
Yeh na pūchh kaisā pāyā |
The One (God) made you unique (peerless). |
Na usī nē kuchh batāyā
|
کبھی خندہ زیر لب ہے۔ کبھی گریہ ساری شب ہے |
Kabhī khanda zēr-e-lab hai, kabhī girya sārī shab hai |
Sometimes there is a smile beneath the lip; sometimes there is weeping all night. |

کبھی غم کبھی طرب ہے۔ نہ سبب سمجھ میں آیا |
Kabhī gham kabhī ṭarab hai, na sabab samajh mēñ āyā |
Sometimes there is sorrow, sometimes there is joy. The reason is not understood, |

نہ اسی نے کچھ بتایا |
Na usī nē kuchh batāyā |
Nor has he (the heart/the situation) disclosed anything. |
Tō qadam mēñ Arsh pāyā
|
کبھی خاک پر پڑا ہے۔ سر چرخ زیرِپا ہے |
Kabhī khāk par paṛā hai, sar charkh zēr-e-pā hai |
Sometimes he (the Momin/Darwesh) is lying upon the dust; his head is beneath the sky (under his feet). |

کبھی پیش در کھڑا ہے۔ سر بندگی جھکایا |
Kabhī pēsh-e-dar khaṛā hai, sar bandagī jhukāyā |
Sometimes he stands before the doorway, having bowed his head in servitude. |
|
تو قدم میں عرش پایا |
Tō qadam mēñ Arsh pāyā |
Then he finds the Divine Throne (Arsh) beneath his feet. |
Baṛī jōshishoñ sē āyā
|
کبھی وہ تپک کہ آتش۔ کبھی وہ ٹپک کہ بارش |
Kabhī woh tapak ke ātish, kabhī woh ṭapak ke bārish |
Sometimes that fervent heat which is fire; sometimes that dripping which is rain. |

کبھی وہ ہجو م نالِش کوئی جانے ابر چھایا |
Kabhī woh hijv-o-nālish, koī jāne abr chhāyā |
Sometimes that satire and lamentation; let someone know the cloud has descended (with blessings). |
|
بڑی جوششوں سے آیا |
Baṛī jōshishoñ sē āyā |
He came with great enthusiasm. |
Gul-e-quds lehlahāyā
|
کبھی وہ چہک کہ بلبل کبھی وہ مہک کہ خود گل |
Kabhī woh chehak ke bulbul, kabhī woh mehak ke khud gul |
Sometimes that chirping like a nightingale; sometimes that fragrance that is the flower itself. |

کبھی وہ لہک کہ بالکل چمنِ جناں کھلایا |
Kabhī woh lehak ke bilkul, chaman-e-jināñ khilāyā |
Sometimes that swaying (in joy) that entirely makes the garden of paradise blossom. |

گلِ قدس لہلہایا |
Gul-e-quds lehlahāyā |
The flower of holiness swayed (in joy). |
Kahē rūh hāñ jalāyā
|
کبھی زندگی کے ارماں کبھی مرگ نو کا خواہاں |
Kabhī zindagī kē armāñ, kabhī marg-e-nau kā khwāhāñ |
Sometimes desiring the aspirations of life; sometimes desiring a fresh death. |
|
وہ جیا کہ مرگ قرباں وہ مواکہ زیست لایا |
Woh jiyā ke marg qurbāñ, woh mu’ā ke zīst lāyā |
He lived such that death was sacrificed; he died such that he brought (new) life. |

کہے روح ہاں جلایا |
Kahē rūh hāñ jalāyā |
The soul says, “Yes, he ignited it.” |
Rukh-e-kām-e-jāñ dikhāyā
|
کبھی گم کبھی عیاں ہے کبھی سرد گہ تپاں ہے |
Kabhī gum kabhī ayāñ hai, kabhī sard gah tapāñ hai |
Sometimes he is hidden, sometimes manifest; sometimes he is cold, yet burning hot. |

کبھی زیر لب فغاں ہے کبھی چپ کہ دم نہ تھایا |
Kabhī zēr-e-lab faghāñ hai, kabhī chup ke dam na thāyā |
Sometimes there is lamentation beneath the lip; sometimes silence, holding his breath. |
|
رُخِ کام جاں دکھایا |
Rukh-e-kām-e-jāñ dikhāyā |
He revealed the face of spiritual desire. |
Maiñ unheñ shafī’ lāyā
|
یہ تصوراتِ باطل ترے آگے کیا ہیں مشکل |
Yeh taṣawwurāt-e-bātil, tirē āgē kyā haiñ mushkil |
These false imaginings (of the world), what difficulty do they pose before you? |

تری قدرتیں ہیں کامل انہیں راست کر خدایا |
Tirī qudratēñ haiñ kāmil, unheñ rāst kar Khudāyā |
Your powers are perfect, O Lord, guide them to the right path. |
|
میں انہیں شفیع لایا |
Maiñ unheñ shafī’ lāyā |
I bring him (The Prophet) the Intercessor |
