ہم خاک ہیں اور خاک ہی ماویٰ ہے ہمارا
خاکی تو وہ آدم جدِ اعلیٰ ہے ہمارا
Ham Khak Hain Aur Khak Hi Mawa Hai Hamara
Khaki To Woh Aadam Jad-e-Aala Hai Hamara
We are but dust, and dust is our final abode;
For Adam, our exalted forefather, was also fashioned from dust.
اللہ ہمیں خاک کرے اپنی طلب میں
یہ خاک تو سرکار سے تمغہ ہے ہمارا
Allah Humein Khak Kare Apni Talab Mein
Yeh Khak To Sarkar Se Tamgha Hai Hamara
May Allah turn us into dust in the pursuit of His love;
For this state of humility is a medal of honor granted by the Prophet ﷺ.
جس خاک پہ رکھتے تھے قدم سیدِ عالم
اس خاک پہ قرباں دلِ شیدا ہے ہمارا
Jis Khak Pe Rakhte Thay Qadam Sayyid-e-Aalam
Us Khak Pe Qurban Dil-e-Shaida Hai Hamara
Upon that dust where the Master of the Universe ﷺ placed his feet;
Our longing heart is ready to be sacrificed in devotion.
خم ہو گئی پشتِ فلک اس طعنِ زمیں سے
سن! ہم پہ مدینہ ہے وہ رتبہ ہے ہمارا
Kham Ho Gayi Pusht-e-Falak Is Taan-e-Zameen Se
Sun! Hum Pe Madinah Hai Woh Rutba Hai Hamara
The back of the sky bowed under the taunt of the earth;
“Listen! I hold Madinah upon me”—such is the height of our status.
اس نے لقبِ خاک شہنشاہ سے پایا
جو حیدرِ کرار کہ مولےٰ ہے ہمارا
Us Ne Laqab-e-Khak Shahenshah Se Paaya
Jo Haidar-e-Karrar Ke Maula Hai Hamara
He received the title of ‘Dust’ (Abu Turab) from the King of Prophets;
He, the Valiant Lion (Ali), who is our spiritual master.
اے مدعیو! خاک کو تم خاک نہ سمجھے
اس خاک میں مدفوں شہِ بطحا ہے ہمارا
Ae Muddayiyo! Khak Ko Tum Khak Na Samjhe
Is Khak Mein Madfoon Shah-e-Batha Hai Hamara
O pretenders! You did not understand the worth of this dust;
Within this very soil rests our Sovereign of Makkah ﷺ.
ہے خاک سے تعمیر مزارِ شہِ کونین
معمور اسی خاک سے قبلہ ہے ہمارا
Hai Khak Se Taameer Mazaar-e-Shah-e-Konein
Maamoor Isi Khak Se Qibla Hai Hamara
The shrine of the Lord of both worlds is built of this earth;
Our center of devotion (Qibla) is inhabited by this very dust.
ہم خاک اُڑائیں گے جو وہ خاک نہ پائی
آباد رضا جس پہ مدینہ ہے ہمارا
Hum Khak Udaayein Ge Jo Woh Khak Na Paayi
Aabaad Raza Jis Pe Madinah Hai Hamara
We shall wander in distress if we do not find that sacred soil;
Upon which, O Raza, our beloved Madinah flourishes.
