“Tu Rah Naward-e-Shouq Hai Manzil Na Kar Qabool” is a masterpiece by Allama Muhammad Iqbal. In these verses, Iqbal exhorts the seeker to never settle for a final destination, but to embrace life as a continuous journey of self-discovery and spiritual evolution.
Tu Rah Naward-e-Shouq Hai Manzil Na Kar Qabool
Laila Be Hum Nasheen Ho To Mahmil Na Kar Qabool
You are a traveler on the path of passion; do not accept a destination.
Even if Laila (the beloved) sits with you, do not accept the litter (comfort).
Ae Juye Aab Barh Ke Ho Darya-e-Tund-o-Tez
Sahil Tujhe Ata Ho To Sahil Na Kar Qabool
O rivulet! Grow and become a fierce, fast-flowing river;
If the shore is offered to you, do not accept the shore.
Khoya Na Ja Sanam Kada-e-Kainaat Mein
Mehfil Gudaz Garmi-e-Mehfil Na Kar Qabool
Do not get lost in the idol-house of the universe;
Do not accept the melting warmth of its transient gathering.
Subha-e-Azal Ye Mujh Se Kaha Jibreel Ne
Jo Aql Ka Ghulam Ho Woh Dil Na Kar Qabool
On the morning of eternity, Gabriel said this to me:
Do not accept a heart that is a slave to cold intellect.
Baatil Dui Pasand Hai Haq La-Shareek Hai
Shirkat Miyana-e-Haq-o-Baatil Na Kar Qabool
Falsehood loves duality, but Truth is Peerless and One;
Do not accept a compromise between Truth and Falsehood.
