“Khule Jate Hain Asrar-e-Nihani” is a visionary Urdu Rubai (quatrain) by Allama Muhammad Iqbal from his book Bal-e-Jibreel. In these verses, Iqbal proclaims that the era of hidden mysteries is ending, and the true “Guide” of the age is the one who first discovers the power of their own Khudi (Self).
کھلے جاتے ہیں اسرارِ نہانی
گیا دورِ حدیثِ “لن ترانی”
Khule Jate Hain Asrar-e-Nihani
Gaya Daur-e-Hadees-e- “Lan Tarani”
پوشیدہ راز اب ظاہر ہوتے جا رہے ہیں
وہ دور گزر گیا جب کہا گیا تھا کہ “تو مجھے نہیں دیکھ سکتا”
The hidden secrets are now being unveiled;
The age of the decree “You shall not see Me” has passed.
ہوئی جس کی خودی پہلے نمودار
وہی مہدی، وہی آخر زمانی
Hui Jis Ki Khudi Pehle Namoodar
Wohi Mehdi, Wohi Aakhir Zamani
جس شخص کی “خودی” (اصلیت) پہلے ظاہر ہو گئی
وہی وقت کا رہبر ہے، وہی اس آخری دور کا ہادی ہے
The one whose “Self” (Khudi) is manifested first;
He is the true Guide, the Leader of the final age.
Quranic Context (Surah Al-A’raf 7:143)
The term “Lan Tarani” used by Iqbal is a direct reference to the Quranic dialogue between Prophet Musa (A.S.) and Allah:
قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَن تَرَانِي
“موسیٰ نے عرض کی: اے میرے رب! مجھے اپنا دیدار دکھا کہ میں تجھے دیکھوں… اللہ نے فرمایا: تو مجھے ہرگز نہ دیکھ سکے گا”
“He said, ‘My Lord, show [Yourself] to me that I may look at You.’ Allah said, ‘You will not see Me…'”
